Spay/Neuter Information

Spay/Neuter Application and Information

Thank you for your interest in spaying/neutering your cat(s) by Kauai Community Cat Project. This certainly helps with the cat population (trap-neuter-returning (TNR) community cats ROCKS!), and can help your cat live a long and healthy life. For some cats, it may also help with behavioral issues.

Some of you may have heard the SPCA has received a grant for TNR’s for 2024. They will be staffing our bus in Anahola as well as doing the scheduling. This is for residents of Lihue, east and north Kauai. Residents of the south and west sides should schedule through KCCP (appointment form is below).

Kauai SPCA has a mechanized scheduling system which I will explain.

First item to note is all cats will get ear tips through the SPCA service. There are no exceptions. If you do not want your cats tipped, you can send me a email and I will go through your options.

If you typically have standing appointments you will need to go in and make appointments for each month.
When you access their scheduler, it asks for basic info like name, contact number, zip code, email, and how many cats. It will put you in the queue for their next available date. You don’t really have a choice on date at that point but you can always cancel and submit later for a different date.

After you fill that out, you will receive an email with their next available date and check in instructions. You can at any time go in and change the number of spots required.

KCCP will attempt to loan traps if required. We are very limited so it may not be possible.

Here is the link – it is also found on Kauai SPCA web page. Remember, this is a FREE service provided by the Kauai SPCA, but donations (to them as well as us) are always welcome.

SpayMobile operates 4-6 days a month to provide services for our colony caregivers, and a low cost spay/neuter to the community.

Our costs are about $75 per kitty which includes surgery, microchip, FVRCP shot and flea treatment. Since we work entirely from donations, any amount you can donate is appreciated. Donations can be made from our web page or at the time of the surgery.

Please answer all questions to the best of your ability to help us with our scheduling process. One of our volunteers will contact you to schedule an appointment, and answer any questions you may have.

All information will be kept confidential. If you have any questions, please email us at info@kauaicommunitycats.org or use our contact form on our website.

Applicants must be over 21 years of age.

You will be required to sign a waiver upon check in. We take the best care of your cat that is humanly possible but at times unknown risks present themselves in a bad outcome. Please read this carefully so you can make an informed decision when scheduling your pet/community cat for surgery. We are not the best option for higher-risk kitties, senior kitties and those with a history of medical issues. KCCP reserves the right to refuse surgery if a health risk to kitty is determined. For more information, including what we will and will not do, please read this PDF. Mahalo.

Items marked with a red asterisk * are REQUIRED.

Please allow 3-4 days for processing your application. Thank you!
